Network Administrator

Overview

SABRIC is looking for an experienced Network Administrator to design, install, modify, monitor and maintain the organisation’s network and computer systems to ensure its products and services are available within agreed service levels. Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly, providing timely support to end-users. The position is based in Midrand (Remote work applicable and aligned to SABRIC’s policies) and the resource must be within 2 hours drive from the SABRIC offices as they may be required to assist at the office from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure and maintain Technology infrastructure including Development, UAT, Backup and Production environments.
  • Ensure knowledge is transferred in the Infrastructure sub-circle by documenting and reviewing configurations, workarounds and assets.
  • Manage availability, capacity and performance of Technology infrastructure and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
  • Manage problems through to resolution, troubleshoot technical issues and implement workarounds and/or solutions.
  • Ensure Technology infrastructure, process and procedure documentation are reviewed and updated.
  • Ensure the continuity of Technology Services, conduct disaster recovery tests, keep the battle box up to date, and manage backups and replication according to agreed service levels.
  • Serve as a backup to the Security Administrator and perform their role when required.
  • Support the Helpdesk and Network Administration Support Technician and Security Administrator in the performance of their role when required.
  • Support the Technology and Toolbox circle providing support to other roles within the sub-circle ensuring they are able to perform their roles without impediment and providing technical assistance when required.
  • Assist with Database Administration when required.

Cross Role Support

  1. Serve as backup to the Security Administration Role
  2. Support the Help Desk and Network Admin Support technician.

Documentation

  • Document all network configurations and processes.
  • Document infrastructure related plans and projects.
  • Ensure that audit evidence is filed and available for annual internal audit.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Information Technology OR equivalent certification.
  • Exposure to ISO or PCI DSS or similar.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management processes, i.e., exposure to ITIL, COBIT, etc.

Experience
Essential:

  • At least 3 years current experience as a network Administrator on a medium sized network of servers and desktop systems, with the ability to support a variety of technologies.
  • At least 3 years current technical security administration experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Microsoft Windows Server
  • Microsoft 365 including SharePoint and Exchange
  • Azure Active Directory
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Exposure to ITIL, Cobit, PCI DSS, etc. would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of LAN, WAN, VPNs and remote access.
  • Demonstrated technical understanding of stateful Firewall and UTM
  • technologies
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools, including web application
  • vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Solid technical experience in IIS
  • Solid Linux and VMWare technical skills
  • Veeam Backup and Replication

  • Access to a stable internet connection, preferably fibre with a bandwidth no less than 20Mpbs
