Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP)

Overview

SABRIC is looking for an experienced Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) who will cover a wide array of responsibilities related to personnel management, which may include involvement in matters like recruitment, budgeting, compensation, benefits, Benchmarking, employee training and development, change management, retention management, work continuity and succession planning, compliance, and administration.

The HRBP will be regarded as the subject matter expert with full ownership/project management of standard core people processes and must manage, plan and set their own priorities based on overall direction from the company strategy.

The HRBP should have solid experience with HR practices and employee management. And be able to communicate with the board of directors as well as senior managers to express new ideas and suggest solutions, considering budget limitations and our company culture. Work with cross-functional teams on a daily basis and for project management specific to HR.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Development

  • Maintenance of Organisational Structure, policies, and processes
  • Partner with business leads and other support functions to maintain a highly motivated and engaged workforce
  • Coaching leaders to develop their understanding of HR matters
  • Drive Performance Management process and system, such as the organizational leadership review/ Career Path sessions/talent management initiatives
  • Craft executive reports for Board, REMCO and EXCO
  • Learning & development – Support the team in conducting training needs assessment for employees across levels when required. Keep a skills matrix of training and what is related to the position
  • Encouraging coaching and mentorship through skills initiatives
  • Establish and maintain a Training and Development committee
  • Project management skills to facilitate or lead project-based initiatives
  • Drive engagement, transformation, and culture initiatives within the organisation

HR Administration Services & Compliance

  • Onboarding and Updating of Personnel Records
  • Management of employee benefits (for e.g., but no limited to Pension / Provident Fund and Medical Aid, cell phone contracts, wellness programme)
  • Reporting and submissions for payroll compliance
  • General administration of payroll and reconciliations
  • Provisional and Tax Year end reconciliation and submission (IRP5’s)
  • Responsible for statutory compliance and legislative reporting e.g. Employment Equity, WSP/ATR & OID
  • Responsible for the implementation of HR Programs and projects
  • Maintain existing and implement new HR policies, procedures and programs
  • Responsible for OHS

Recruitment, Succession, Retention and Retirement

  • Attracts and retains suitable candidates considering business needs
  • Management of costs associated with recruiting, avoidance or reduced placement fees, advertising costs
  • Benchmark reporting
  • Provide support for Attrition analysis, includes- analyzing Exit interview, observe trends and highlight important aspects, prepare and publish dashboards/reports
  • Maintain Succession, Retention and Skills Transfer initiatives

HR Analytics and Reporting

  • Analyse trends and metrics in the organisation
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Provide HR policy guidance
  • Monitor and report to EXCO on workforce and succession planning
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Human Resources/ a three-year qualification at NQF Level 6 or higher in an HR related field
  • Postgraduate Degree (advantageous)

Experience

Essential Knowledge and Skills

  • Five years’ experience in Human Capital / Human Resource BP /HR related role
  • EXCO and Board of Directors reporting experience
  • Must have Sage 300 payroll system knowledge & experience
  • People 300 experience (advantageous)
  • Strong understanding of Labor related laws and statutes.
  • Stay abreast of all labour legislation
  • Should be proficient in Microsoft applications (MS Teams, MS Office) and data related tools

Personal Situation

  • Able to commute reliably to Midrand office.
  • Must have a vehicle and driver’s licence.
  • Able to work independently and extended hours when required.
  • Have a dedicated 20MB Uncapped Fiber at home and suitable work from home environment.
